Just Wandering Around Kowloon July 4, 2011

Turning a corner or crossing a street always provides new visuals in China.  Whether it be people just out and about or people going about their businesses, these images capture some of what Kowloon streets are all about...We visited Kowloon Park, which is this lush sanctuary of greenspace amidst all the surrounding concrete.  There is an aviary, which we could have spent hours watching.  A short distance from the park, we discovered this amazing sculpture.  Enjoy the visual ramblings of this day...

The juxtaposition of ideas and cultures and lifestyles is very alive and real here in Kowloon.  On one walkway, we observed a man and a woman singing Jesus Saves sorts of songs, with Hindus listening and swaying and clapping.  Just a few steps away, there were a large group of Muslim women, all with hijab, studying the Koran.  And just a little further down the path were a group of men, almost all with their shirts rolled up to their armpits on this humid day, playing chess and checkers and various other games.
